Taking a Credit Card Payment with Municipay

In this Knowledgebase (KB) Article it will walk you through the process of taking a Credit Card payment using Municipay within iGovServices. 

 

You will learn:

  • How to process a credit card payment using Municipay.




First you will need to be logged into iGovServices

On the black navigation bar to the left

In iGovServices, navigate to:

Payments → In-Office POS → 

(If you do not see this menu item, please contact your administrator to provide the appropriate rights)


Important Note : Municipay will not allow over payments.


Enter the payment type as Credit Card, and then click Take Payment. 



The system will connect you with the Municipay payment page where you can either swipe the card (which is the tab on the left) or manually enter the card information using the tab on the right. 



Follow the instructions on the Municipay screen click Submit. This will process the credit card payment and automatically update the account within iGov Services. 


At this point you will be given a choice to either Print or Email the receipt. 


Important Note: Municipay will not allow payment that consist of more than 20 charge lines. If you have more than 20 charge lines break the payment up into smaller sizes.
