Common Errors & Issue Can’t Create a New Record

Scenario: You are trying to create a new record from the menu but it is not working.

This is normally an issue with the data being typed in because the new record process is tested during your initial training. If you have successfully created a new record before, we are going to assume there is a data issue.  If you have not successfully created a new record before then contact support directly and explain the details of where the process is failing.

Check the following items:

• The new record process is divided into multiple Green bar sections so troubleshoot each section one at a time.

  • Customer section – Look for any special characters that are really long names typed into a field.  Remove those characters or shorten the name and click submit to see if the system accepts it.

    • Special characters behave differently in web-based software.

  • Location Section – If adding a new location be sure to fill out the required fields.  The system checks the address with the USPS database and asks you to confirm the address.  Be sure to click on the confirmed address and save it.

  • Additional Contacts - Look for any special characters that are really long names typed into a field.  Remove those characters or shorten the name and click the submit to see if the system accepts it.

  • Details – Look for any required fields and no special characters.

  • Filing Code – Not required but select from the drop-down and a cycle and Add the code.

  • Add Charge – Not required but select the charge and be sure to add it.

• If you receive an error or it just spins on the last button, Complete Record then contact support.  It is almost certainly a data issue but a technician may need to help you troubleshoot.

If the above instructions do not solve your issue then contact support and the ticket will be elevated.
